About Me

Why the name “Dandyman”? I'm known for having a positive attitude and whenever someone asks me “How are you?” I often respond with a cheerful "Dandy!" My family joked years ago that I should be called “Dandyman” … and the name stuck.

Wes Burton is the “Dandyman”, a retired engineer and former construction executive turned handyman. Wes has spent his entire life in and around construction and enjoys helping others undertake and fulfill their renovation & home maintenance dreams. His career in commercial construction involved taking ideas and turning them into physical builds. More recently, Wes has turned his focus towards helping neighbours, friends and families with their residential projects.

Wes takes great pleasure in working on projects from start to finish, tapping into his engineering background and helping with the following services:

  • Plans and drawings

  • Framing

  • Millwork and cabinetry

  • Finishing (drywall, painting, baseboards, trim, etc.)

  • Plumbing

  • Ventilation

  • Lighting & Electrical

Wes is knowledgeable on a wide variety of home improvement topics. He can help with project planning, cost estimating, and trade work. And delivers high quality results … just ask his former customers (see his clients’ feedback in the Reviews).

Wes is able to comfortably engage and manage specialized trades to ensure clients' projects remain on schedule and stay on budget. He takes great pride in customer relations, ensuring they know the project status at all times, and openly communicates about any developments, all with the goal of keeping projects enjoyable for everyone involved.

Wes starts the day with a cup of tea and shows up early because building a client’s project is exciting. He enjoys the partnership of bringing a concept to life, truly improving the household of one client at a time.
